Artist Audit obo American Artist undertaken in UK at a Major Record Company
We were asked to undertake an audit by an American R&B artist's US record label.
They had licensed her product for ROW to a UK major.
Apart from the usual free goods, prices and royalty rate claims we found that the UK major record company had not paid over to USA, the artist's share of neighbouring rights monies arising in UK and overseas. Having alerted the UK company to this error – we were quickly supplied with UK PPL/VPLK income details in the gross sum of nearly £1million. In addition to this, there were monies due for big earning territories such as The Netherlands, France and Germany amongst others. If we hadn't have audited, we are sure that these monies would have been retained by the UK major. Innocently – of course !< Back to services
